Naive folk art figure of Frida Kahlo fashioned in clay by Guillermina, of the famous Aguilar sisters, from Oaxaca. Directly inspired by Frida Kahlo's famous painting "Self-Portrait with Itzcuintli Dog," 1938. You can see the sense of lonliness in Frida's face with only her dog offering closeness. Frida is dressed in a native costume as was often her style, complete with a braided rope of hair wound across the top of her head.
Signed on the back by the artist, Guillermina Aguilar.
