| Olinala, Guererro is well known for it's long history of lacquerware artistry. The technique is called rayado (incised). After applying a base coat to the carved wood box, the artist applies layers of contrasting colors. When dry, the piece is cut through to the color layer that the artist wants exposed. The resulting pattern is almost in relief. Presented in a rich wine color. 7 1/2" L x 3 1/2" D x 2 1/2" T |
